If you are looking for it, there was no challenge in October 2012, so this one is No.3, the November Challenge.

The Users of this Forum did decide to take the Tune:

The Tune may sound difficult when heard the first time but give it a try. It will be fun.

A Youtube Playlist beginning with the Ryan Duns Tutorial followed by Recordings with several different Instruments - just listen to this videos (13 and becomming more) - playlists always grow :-=)) and you really have this tune "in your head" ๐Ÿ˜‰

As usual for our challenges, i created a youtube playlist with several different versions of this tune, to get it into the head and get inspired.
Just added the link into the top posting of this thread. You can watch it here or on youtube, just start the video and all videos are shwon one after the other, ... 13 untill now and it grows (if you find interesting versions, let me know and i add them)

I can sense he is having a hard time not to use ornaments. He is sneaking out some cuts.

Good Choise this tune it helps me by learning reading sheetmusic (dots)

But not really a Tutorial this Time from Ryan ๐Ÿ˜‰
He just played it "slow once"

But thats ok, i need to learn reading "dots"
I did download his playing cutted that talking away and play it with half speed to be able to play it from sheetmusic and not needing tabs
Just having problems reading those notes above B, but its good for me to learn reading them now

By the way

I dont seem to see any C on the Score..... it could be a D in a different mode

Yes ... if there were any C's in the tune they would be natural. C# you play all the holes open ... C you have some options depending on what sounds best on your whistle ... half hole the top hole, cover the 2nd and 3rd holes from the top or just the second hole.
Figuring out what key a piece of music is in can be tricky and where some music theory comes in handy. How do we know that this tune is in the key of G?
First you look at the Key signature of the peice. This one shows one sharp on the top line which is the F note ... so F sharp. What scales have one F# in them .... G does and it's related modes. Next look at the first note (not the low D .. that's an into note) the first bar begins with a G. Next where does the tune resolve to? Each Section A and B part resolves from G to G. Everything is point you to the key of G.

It's been busy for me as well. Too much going on. Just keep at it when you can and put up a tune when you are ready. I'll see if I can get one up tonight. I'd say that if you can get this tune under your belt it's a goog step to giving yourself the confidence to tackle any standard tune you would hear played at a session.

"Fast" doesn't necessarily mean "good" (which is imo this case, but I don't have time too nevertheless I didn't want to be ggiles alone).
