Hey Folks
Its now 2 weeks since this website and forum opened its doors.
I need some feedback to develop further.

This is Important - please read and answere!

I am happy with Wordpress, use it for years and know i can do with it all i need. It behaves like expected.
But the Community and Forum run under Mingle wich are Wordpress plugins.

My first Idea was a vBulletin forum, wich is surely the best and most powerfull Community software of all.
But we thought its to much for this little Musicgroup. (if we ever become big ill change to vbuleltin anyway)

Anyway, i saw 2 other possibilities:
1. phpbb, well known, nice, comfortable for users but for administration and security not realy a good choice.
2. Mingle, which i didnt know before but as a wordpress plugin it seemed comfortable and on other websites it seemed to be good to me.

I am happy with our Mingle Forum, some things i like, some i dont like or even miss but all together, i can live with it.
For a smal group surely enough. But maybe, or hopefully we will grow one day, dont you also hope to?

So what is my question right now?
Its 2 questions!

1.
How happy are you with the Mingle forum? (i mean just the forum now, anything we could develop with the rest of the website lets discuss and do later)

And because IF we ever have to change because Mingle is nice but not enough, than we may should do it now.
2.
So, what would you recoment?
Keep Mingle and live with what is good and bad in it.
Or change now before its to late, to phpbb wich is, .... well, you all know http://forums.chiffandfipple.com, its run by phpbb for example.
Its not a big deal instaling it. And i hope it will not be a big thing mooving our already done posts to that new place, even if not, thats why i ask so ealy, its not much we would loose if its not possible to moove the threads.

I realy need you Feedback for this decision because i want that we all feel comfortable here. And a change may be a change to something more comfatable but maybe not and also its always work to moove,..... so what to do?

If we decide to keep mingle, than i will try to develop it, but i guess there is not much more possible as there is now.

Please think about all this and give me feedback during the next Week better earlier. Otherweise you have to live with my decission, wich would be .... well i also have to think about 😉

Dont get me wrong;
I have to say, i do like phpbb and did run a forum on phpbb before.
BUT when i worked with professional Webdesigner`s and SEO`s for my Comercial Website and Community (Photographyschool) i was warned by every potential webdesigner and SEO, "Dont use phpbb"
Vbulletin my favorite of al is not without reason so expensive. But for the comercial website i was told by everyone, use vbulletin and nothing else. And i never would.
Here i can live with mingle but also with phpbb. I just worry what happen if this will grow, will Mingel have a future? I know its possible to move content vfrom phpbb to vbulletin if needed one day, i am not sure if its possible with mingle. (that would be my problem with mingle)
I would like phpbb but its many years ago since i install and administrate it, and i wouldnt like to finde out again just on my own. (thats my problem with phpbb)

... and i still have to decide 😉
and still hope for more feedback of all our Members
